Terms of Service

MapMyVotes is a software service that helps political campaigns, civic organizations, and individual candidates organize door-to-door canvassing. We provide tools to upload voter lists, geocode addresses, draw turf assignments on a map, and produce printed walk lists.

We charge a per-voter fee for the geocoding service. We do not sell, license, or redistribute voter data — you bring your own list, we provide the software.

You may use MapMyVotes only for political, election-related, or non-commercial civic purposes. You may not use the service for:

• Commercial marketing or solicitation
• Discrimination, harassment, or intimidation of voters
• Any purpose prohibited by the laws of the state(s) from which the voter list was sourced
• Reselling or redistributing voter data, or making it publicly searchable

You represent that you have lawfully obtained any voter list you upload, and that your intended use complies with the rules of the source state(s). Some states (notably California, Arizona, Pennsylvania, and South Dakota) impose additional restrictions on commercial display of voter data — compliance is your responsibility.

You must provide accurate registration information and maintain the confidentiality of your account. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe are violating these terms or applicable law, with or without notice.

The first 500 voters geocoded under your account are free. Beyond that, geocoding is billed per unique address at the rates published on our pricing page. We deduplicate by address: re-uploading a list does not double-bill addresses we have already geocoded for your account.

Credits are pre-paid and non-refundable except as required by law. Failed or unmatched geocoding attempts do not count against your balance.

We may change pricing with 30 days' notice. Changes will not affect credits already purchased.

Voter records you upload remain your data. We store them only to provide the service to you, do not share them with third parties (other than the geocoding providers necessary to perform the service), and do not use them for any other purpose. See our Privacy Policy for details.

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. We will delete promptly and confirm in writing.

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Geocoding accuracy depends on third-party data providers (US Census, Geocodio) and the quality of the addresses you upload. We provide accuracy estimates, not guarantees.

The MapMyVotes service, website, software, and documentation are owned by us and protected by copyright. You retain all rights to your voter data and any turf assignments, lists, and notes you create.

Map data is provided by OpenStreetMap, CARTO, and Microsoft Building Footprints under their respective open licenses.

The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims arising from your misuse of the service or violation of applicable law, including but not limited to misuse of voter data.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
