Privacy Policy

Account information: when you sign up, we collect your name and email address through our auth provider (Clerk).

Voter lists: when you upload a CSV or Excel file, we store the records (names, addresses, vote history, district) so we can geocode them and display them on your map.

Turf assignments and notes: the polygons you draw, the supporters you assign them to, and any notes you record.

Usage data: log entries about API requests, geocoding events for billing, and basic browser/device information.

Payment information: processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers ourselves.

We use the data above only to:

• Provide the MapMyVotes service to you
• Bill you accurately for geocoding
• Detect abuse and protect the service
• Communicate about your account, billing, and product updates (you can opt out of marketing emails)

We do not sell, rent, or redistribute voter data, account data, or any other information you provide.

• Clerk — authentication and identity
• Neon — managed Postgres database hosting
• Vercel — application hosting
• Cloudflare — landing-page hosting and waitlist storage
• Geocodio and US Census — geocoding service providers; we send addresses to them solely to obtain coordinates
• Stripe — payment processing
• Resend — transactional email

Each of these providers operates under its own privacy commitments. We choose providers with strong data-handling practices and we do not authorize any of them to use your data for their own purposes.

We retain voter data and turf assignments for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete all associated voter data and turf records within 30 days. Backups are retained for an additional 30 days, then expire.

Account-level records (email, billing history) are retained for as long as required by tax and accounting obligations, then deleted.

You may at any time:

• Export your turf and voter data via CSV download
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data — email scottdavidmeyer@gmail.com
• Request correction of any account information that is inaccurate
• Object to specific uses of your data

Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other states with applicable privacy laws have additional rights under those laws. Contact us to exercise any of them.

We use TLS in transit, encryption at rest, scoped database credentials, and least-privilege access controls. No system is invulnerable; if a breach affects your data, we will notify you promptly as required by law.

We use cookies for authentication sessions and basic usage analytics only. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

MapMyVotes is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
